Distance: 38kms/24mi                         Difficulty: High             Place: Río Serrano Villa to Brush Lake

This is without a doubt the wildest adventure we have in Cimarrón. Here you can experience the true wild and untamed character of Patagonia. It consists of 2 days of horseback riding, in the Villa Serrano sector; where we will set up camp on the shore of Brush Lake, with an incredible view of the lake and the Torres del Paine Massif in the background.

It is a very exclusive trail, in an extremely remote place, which is outside of the National Park and is used only by a cattle family in the area to move their animals and some occasional tourists per season.

We start our adventure, on day 1, in the stables of the Astorga Family, in the Villa Río Serrano; southern access to Torres del Paine National Park. Here we will prepare our mounted horses and freighters, with everything you need to live an unforgettable camping experience in one of the most remote places in Patagonia.

Once we have our horses ready, we will head towards the Nutria river sector. This river can be crossed in two different sections depending on the time of year and depending on how much water its flow brings.

Having already crossed this river, we will advance along the Serrano river and begin our ascent between ancient Lenga and Ñirre forests; through a narrow and stony road.
Along this path there are spectacular views of the Serrano river valley, the imposing Paine Massif, Gray Glacier, Cerro Donoso, Tyndall Glacier and Monte Balmaceda.
The path is very varied; at times we enter dense forests, as well as climb and descend stony mountains; always surrounded by an abundant variety of flora and fauna.

To reach our final destination we will have to go through slopes, streams and small lagoons. After about 4 hours of horseback riding, we will arrive at the Jote Lake sector, where we can stop to take a break; if you wish. Here you will be able to appreciate a small hut, which serves as a refuge for the local baqueanos, when they are moving their cattle and the unforgiving climate of Patagonia does not allow them to continue their journey safely.

Once we continue with the ride, we will gain altitude again, from where we can have a spectacular panoramic view of the Tyndall Glacier (one of the largest in the Southern Ice Fields) and after about 8kms. on a mountainous and quite demanding trail, we will see our final destination: Brush Lake, from where we will begin to descend to set up camp on the shore of the lake. This place is quite repaired and ideal to set up our tents and enjoy a well-deserved rest and a hearty dinner. It should be noted that this camp does not have toilet facilities, since we are in one of the most remote places that can be accessed in Torres del Paine.

The next day, our team will prepare a refreshing breakfast for you and you will be able to enjoy the Lake and its surroundings in the morning. You will have the opportunity to realize the magnitude and immensity of the nature that surrounds us and appreciate it in a serene and full way. While you enjoy this spectacle, our team will begin to set up camp and prepare our cargo horses; so that after a few hours, we have everything ready including a Box Lunch that you can eat before starting our way back, or once we get to Jote Lake.

The return is along the same path, but unlike the way out, now we will have the Paine Massif in front of us at all times, making it an ideal day to take photos or simply keep it in your memories for life.

The return should take about 5 hours of riding, more or less, depending on the pace at which we go. Upon reaching Villa Serrano we will have a spectacular view of the river with the Massif in the background.
