Distance : 31kms/20mi (on the saddle)                   Difficulty: High        Place: Monte Balmaceda to Serrano Village

This is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating experiences that we offer in Cimarrón. It involves moving from the city of Puerto Natales, to the Torres del Paine National Park; mixing a navigation between glaciers and a horseback ride on an exclusive path, which is only ridden by one cattle family in the area.

We start the day very early, where around 7.15am we will pick you up at your place of lodging to go to the dock of the navigation company 21 de Mayo.
Here we will get on one of their boats, with the aim of reaching Monte Balmaceda; where we can marvel at its hanging glaciers: the Serrano and the Balmaceda. The navigation lasts around 3 hours, where we will sail from beginning to end the impressive Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope) Fjord, enjoying its scenic beauty and the particular flora and fauna that inhabit it.

Once we reach the Serrano and Balmaceda glaciers, which are part of the Bernardo O'higgins National Park (the largest in Chile, and the third largest freshwater reserve in the world); We will descend in Puerto Toro, where the horses will be waiting for us to begin the mounted adventure.

Here we will make a short stop to hydrate ourselves and eat something if required; and we will prepare to begin the journey. They are a bit more than 30kms to get to Villa Serrano, in Torres del Paine; but due to the technical and challenging terrain it will take us 7-8 hours of riding to complete it.

This trail goes up the Serrano river, from Monte Balmaceda to Villa Serrano. It is a very exclusive trail, since it is located outside the National Park and is only used by a family in the area to move their livestock and a few visitors a year.

The views here are surreal. Once we leave Monte Balmaceda behind, little by little different wonders of the Nature will appear such as the Serrano River, Brush Lake, Jote Lake, Sierra Chacabuco, Tyndall Glacier, Paine Massif, Cerro Donoso, Cerro Ferrier, among others.

After a long day of sailing and horseback riding we will arrive at our final destination, Villa Serrano in Torres del Paine.
